donationcoder.com have posted the results to their 2006 Accessibility Game Programming Contest. Some really imaginative games were submitted, and it was great to be a part of it. Props to all of the winners, developers, and of course and the contest organizers who put in a lot of work and made it a really fun experience for everyone.

Jayisgames.com have posted their top casual games of 2006, and nominated Dolphin Olympics in the action/arcade category! It’s a big honour to see it in there alongside those other games, all of them are extremely cool. A big congratulations to all of the winners.

I’ve recently finished up working on an entry for the donationcoder.com Accessibility Game Coding Contest. It’s a switch game, which is a game that has only one input (in this case the left mouse button).
The game is called Wakerider. Steer a boat through a series of checkpoints before you run out of time while keeping your wakeboarder from wiping out.

Hope everyone out there has a good 2007! I’m back from holidays and have finished up a few big projects, so I’ll hopefully have more time to keep this site up-to-date.

Something is wrong with my mouse hand. I don’t think it’s carpal tunnel; I’ve heard that ‘tingles’. This isn’t tingling. It’s aching. There was actually a bruise on the inside of my thumb. No doubt having a full-time desk job, along with moonlighting on game work is at the root of this tragedy. The flood of new videogames coming out right now isn’t helping either.
Hurry up with the cybernetic hand already!

It turns out the problems with the scoreboard and page access in Dolphin Olympics were/are due to issues with my hosting provider. I hope to have them resolved soon.

Update: All fixed. The high scores should be working again.
Somehow the game was taken offline again by someone or something other than myself. The high score chart access is also malfunctioning. I am looking into the cause; in the meantime I have uploaded a backup copy of the game. You should be able to play but unable to submit scores to the high score database.

Thanks to everyone who wrote in to let me know about the multiplier bug in Dolphin Olympics. It was officially squashed yesterday evening.

Update: As mentioned in the comments on this post, there is now an 11 million video available. I am constantly amazed at the skill of all of you Dolphin Olympics players. I can barely crack 2 million myself most of the time
rssurvivor has posted a video of a 3 million point run in Dolphin Olympics. If you’re curious about some of the techniques you can use to get a better score, check it out.
