Dolphin Olympics v1.9 released
The Dolphin Olympics has been updated with the following features:
- Enhanced scoreboard - Player’s can track their own personal scores, and the game now records individual records for a variety of things (longest jump, biggest splash, etc.)
- Revised menu structure
- Minor performance enhancements

I have just played your game and i loved it. The dolphin is Amazing and beautiful, and the game is extremely accurate and polished. Please keep making games like these!

The game’s great but still has some bug (?)…
Well I’m not sure but I think that the “Longest jump” record and the “Highest jump” record are inverted: some minutes ago I’ve made the longest jump I’ve ever seen but the “Longest jump” record didn’t change but the “Highest jump” record did!
Second: the “Top scores” table… well I’m not such a good player but, a part from the 19 millions former first place, I could see strange records in the 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th places, respectively 99.999.999 for the first three placese and 22.222.222 for the fourth one, well the 99.999.999 could even not look strange because there may be a top range in the score count wich could really be 99.999.999… but if it is so the 22.222.222 now really looks strange, doesn’t it?
Third and last: the background changese diacronically! WOW!
but at night you can’t see anything above the Moon, when it’s day you can’t see anything above Mars: the background is simply blank…
Thank you for making this funny game wich sometimes takes me away from the university study stress

Thanks for the feedback Kazuya. You were correct; the highest and longest jumps were being mixed up in the code. I haven’t had a chance to take a look at the backgrounds yet but will do so soon. Thanks again for your feedback, it definitely helps to hear what people think and about the problems they find with the game.

What would be nice is a speedometer and an altimeter on the screen - i.e. so you can see how high and how far each jump is. something like in the bottom corner or something.

There’s still a bug that appears when finishing your supercombo with a very long tailslide until you run out of time. When the clock hits zero the dolphin stops and you can’t post your hiscores or continue playing. Even pressing “play again” wont help.

andrew - Thanks for the feedback. I’ve thought about adding that to the game but didn’t want to add too much to the interface. There’s already a lot going on with the combos and multipliers. I’ll give it some more thought though and see if I can can up with something discrete

Anyway still I do not understand how can other people reach those records! They’re incredible!
Even if I did perfect jumps with many acrobatics, gulps, gullables, hail marys, celebrations, ecc. I’m not able to go over 3,000,000 points! Nor I can go over 38 m/s speed!
Is there anyone willing to teach me some trick?
Maybe doing the corkscrew makes the dolphin go slower?

I don’t know how you guys can make such high scores, i’ve tried everything… even praticed with a real dolphin, but didn’t work well…
Can anyone give some tips on how to perform???
Oh and another thing can any of you explain to me how can I make the “hail mary” and “misson to mars”

It looks like “Hail Mary” is jump length related as “Mission to Mars” is jump height related (you have to go above Mars wich is above the Moon).

“Hail Mary” is for long jump, actually for hanging in air for certain period and long jump.
“mission to Mars” is like “celebration” only higher. So in one jump all 3 can be achieved.
“Gulp” and “Gullable” don’t bring any points?
Alan, I found bug and I think that is reason for such big scores… When I make some combos, and have x30 multiplier I pressed menu and play again. If first jump is flip or nice entry i have 500×31 !!!!
Multiplier stays in next game. if I do it again in third game I can start with x60 multi… If done repedeately multies can be added before time runs up!

Great game! I’ve been playing it quit a lot the last few days - but is doesn’t work right now! All I see is “Error, forbidden” etc. Hope t gets solved cause I’m quit addicted allready…

I love this game, great to fill a few *ahem* minutes…
I found that yesterday and today it now says that I am not authorised to play it. You are not authorized to view this page…to quote…
“You might not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials you supplied.
If you believe you should be able to view this directory or page, please try to contact the Web site by using any e-mail address or phone number that may be listed on the www.rawkins.com home page.”
Has the link been moved, do you have to buy it now, is there some issue with my computer???

Sorry about that, somehow the permissions on the game got changed, it was not intentional. The game should be working properly now.

I’ve checked up for the bug explained by Bergaz…
It really works and if one does this cheating many times, he can reach even a x100 or higher multiplier. O_O
I hope that Alan can solve this bug or else my 3.258.325 points REAL record will never be displayed to everyone

I LOVE that game! When I sit down for a minute I turn on the computer and play that game
But I’m really wondering how come you didn’t make a free game mode?.. It would be great If I could just fool around!

hey umm i love the game it just when im jumpin in the air and press a certain direction to flip the dolphin to get a clean landing the dolhpin keeps flipping and wont stop flipping for like 10 seconds in that direction which makes it nearly impossible to play… its really frusturating anyway to get rid of this problem?
